CNPO holds federal assembly for 2024-2027

The Chandel Naga Peoples Organisation (CNPO) held its federal assembly for the 2024-2027 tenure at SS Mohring Memorial Multipurpose Hall in Mantri Pantha village on Monday.
The assembly hosted by Lamkang Naga Kuki Khanglai (LNKK) was attended by 65 members.
The assembly commenced with a prayer in memory of departed former leaders and hoisting of the CNPO flag.
Some key resolutions adopted during the session after extensive discussions, include approval of the previous resolutions, grant authorisation to the executive council to fill vacant positions, and appointment of five former CNPO presidents - Rd David Boyes, Ng Gilbert, D Ringo, St Nunghlung Victor, and Ws Kanral - to the CNPO Tribunal.
The assembly also approved the formation of the Chandel Naga Intellectual Forum (CNIF) and confirmed the membership of several intellectuals; establishment of four committees - monolith, finance, souvenir, and programme committees, tasked with overseeing the erection of a stone monument for the CNPO; review and consider proposals for amending CNPO constitution, proposed budget for 2024-2025; and advocate for long-pending demand for solution to the Framework Agreement with the Government of India.
