AR celebrates Raksha Bandhan

Kakching/Ukhrul, August 29 2026: In connection with Raksha Bandhan, Assam Rifles organised a series of community-centric initiatives across Kakching and Ukhrul districts from August27 to 29.On the eve of Raksha Bandhan.

August 27 and 28, the Assam Rifles collaborated with Pune-based NGO Aseem Foundation to extend sustainable livelihood support to local entrepreneurs in Kakching district.

The joint team visited the Community Bakery at Serou, an initiative handed over by the Assam Rifles to local villagers who operate it following specialized training by Aseem Foundation.

In Kakching, the team reviewed crochet-making ventures and held discussions with local entrepreneur Chanchal from Sugnu to expand marketing networks for women artisans.

NGO volunteers subsequently visited the Sugnu Company Operating Base (COB) and celebrated Raksha Bandhan with troops through a traditional Rakhi-tying ceremony.

The Assam Rifles also organised "Raksha Se Recognition Tak - The Remarkable Rakhi" at Sangshak.

Senior officials conducted a globally recognised #IAmRemarkable workshop for Riflewomen, facilitating seif-reflection and confidence-building.

At Shangshak, Ukhrul district, on August 29, the AR organised an event which brought together 27 individuals, including senior officials, Dipanshi Nandi, civil women representatives and executive members of the Shangshak Women's Association.
