Churachandpur, May 29 2025: A tragic road accident which occurred near Aizawl, Mizoram in the wee hours on May 27 claimed the lives of a father and his son.

The victim father has been identified as Suanzabiak of Mata, Churachandpur.

Sources said he was driving a car heading towards Aizawl with his youngest son and wife as occupants when the accident occurred around 3 am.

On reaching a place between Sakawdai and Zohmun near Aizawl, Suanzabiak lost control of the vehicle, which skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge, leading to his death and son, while his wife escaped with minor injuries.

Suanzabiak served as headmaster at the Mauchar Higher Secondary, Aizawl.

He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.
