Bishnupur, July 25 2025: With normal classes remaining affected or suspended due to the ongoing pen-down strike being called by members of the Lecturers' Association Manipur (LAM) over irregular salary payments, students of Nambol Higher Secondary School staged a protest on Friday demanding the immediate resumption of academic activities.

Speaking to the media during the protest held at the school campus, a student protester informed that 11 newly-regularised lecturers had joined the school and begun teaching various subjects.

However, since the strike began on July 21, the number of daily classes has drastically reduced from five to six periods to just one or two.

The student urged the government to accord importance in addressing the teachers' demands and ensure resumption of normal classes, adding that the ongoing disruption has severely affected the academic environment of the school.

"Considering the students' future, the government must take immediate action to restore normalcy.

Failing which, the student community would be compelled to intensify the agitation," the student cautioned.

The protesting students shouted slogans such as "Save the future of students", "Release teachers' pending salaries", "Resume classes now" and "Stop ruining our careers" .
