Nupi Bashak workshop / production begins at Kakching

Thoubal, May 24 2026: A three-month long workshop cum production on "Nupi Bashak" commenced today at the training hall of IM Academy of Culture, Kakching Turel Wangma.

The workshop cum production is being organised by the IM Academy of Culture, Kakching Turel Wangma, under the financial assistance of the Department of Art and Culture, Government of Manipur, with the aim of promoting and preserving traditional performing arts.

The inaugural function was attended by JN Manipur Dance Academy, Imphal, former director Laimayum Upendra Sharma Shastri as chief guest.

President of the IM Academy of Culture and Deputy Inspector of Schools, ZEO Kakching, Moirangthem Rajmohon presided over the programme as functional president.

Senior members of the academy, Mayanglambam Achoubi Devi and Khumukchum Gambhini Devi, attended the inaugural ceremony as guests of honour.
