Stop Diarrhoea Campaign launched in Noney

As a part of Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight, the District Level launch of Stop Diarrhoea Campaign themed "Prevent Diarrhoea, Take Care of Yourself, Use ORS and Maintain Cleanliness" was organised by District Health Society, Noney at Nungba community hall on Tuesday.
The campaign was launched by Noney CMO Dr Azin Maringmei in the presence of Noney district immunisation officer Dr Jendum Golmei and Nungba Area Village Authority chairman Ganphun Kamei as special guests.
Speaking at the event, Dr Azin commended staff members of Nungba CHC for their dedication despite facing various shortcomings in infrastructure.
He also praised the work and services of ASHAs, noting that they continue to carry out responsibilities entrusted with commitment despite receiving only a modest honorarium and limited incentives.
Calling ASHAs backbone of healthcare centres and vital grassroots workers within the healthcare system, Dr Azin assured the ASHAs that all possible support would be extended to ensure smooth functioning and improved coordination.
As part of the programme, identity cards, digital weighing machines, mirrors and digital thermometers were distributed to ASHAs of Nungba Block.
The launch programme.was attended by doctors, nurses, ASHAs, paramedical staff, and officials of the District Health Society.
Later, the CMO inspected the ongoing construction of the Trauma Centre, Blood Bank building and Block Research Centre located adjacent to CHC, Nungba.
He urged the contractors to complete the works within the stipulated time so that essential healthcare services could be made available to the people in this remote area of the district.
