According to SI Hungyo, the poor road conditions, coupled with the growing traffic congestion, have added to daily hardships of the public.
He noted that while the town has witnessed growing traffic volume over the past few years, the situation is exacerbated by indiscriminate parking on both sides, leading to significant bottlenecks.
The officer affirmed that the police department is committed to restoring order and ensuring smooth traffic flow and appealed to the public to extend their full support and cooperation to the police in executing their duties, stressing that these measures are undertaken solely in the interest of the general public.
"We urge all drivers to strictly adhere to traffic rules and directives issued by on-duty personnel," he said.
Achung Hungyo maintained that the drive covers a critical stretch of the town, from Dungrei Junction to Wino Tang and police personnel are deployed daily from 5 am to 6 pm, diligently directing traffic and enforcing parking regulations, regardless of weather conditions.
SI Hungyo also informed that earlier on August 13 and 14, the district police undertook a repair of the town's road and filled potholes in Viewland area, in collaboration with Ganpati Construction agency.
