Manglaba Lamdam released, literary awardees feted

Seawaves Manipur marked a significant literary occasion today with the release of the book "Manglaba Lamdam" by Nahakpam Biren Singh.
The event, held at Waikhom Mani Girls College, Thoubal, also celebrated the achievements of three distinguished literary figures recently honored with prestigious awards.
Nahakpam Biren Singh's new work was unveiled in the presence of esteemed guests and literary enthusiasts.
Alongside the book launch, Seawaves Manipur took the opportunity to felicitate its members, including Moirangthem Rajendra Singh for receiving the Lifetime Achievement Writer of the Year Award 2025 from the Naharol Sahitya Premi Samiti, Imphal; Dr M Priyobarta Singh, on being conferred the Sanasam Ongbi Moirangthem Maipakpi Literary Award 2024 by the Naharol Sahitya Premi Samiti, Imphal and Dr Raheijuddin Sheikh (Shamu) for winning the Ayekpam Shyasundar Cash Award from the Manipuri Sahitya Parishad for his acclaimed drama book "Dasu Sardar".
The function was graced by Nongmaithem Kirankumar Singh, former convener of the Sahitya Akademi (New Delhi) Manipuri Language Advisory Board, as chief guest and Associate Professor K Sadananda Singh of Waikhom Mani Girls College as the guest of honour.
Joykumar Luwang, president of Seawaves Manipur, presided over the proceedings.
The event underscored Seawaves Manipur's continued commitment to promoting Manipuri literature and honoring its accomplished writers.
