Meetei localities replaced in ration & health cards

Imphal, June 18 2025: Aftermath of addresses of Moreh town Meetei localities in the ration and health cards replaced with addresses of Kuki villages, a meeting was organised by Committee of Protection of Meetei Victim Moreh at the Ideal Girls' College, Akampat relief camp on Wednesday.

Speaking during the meeting, Committee chairman Leishangthem Inaocha Meitei raised suspicions on whether authorities are helping some group of people in wiping out any remnants of Meetei localities in Moreh and replacing them with names of Kuki villages.

He urged authority concerned to pay special attention to the matter and prevent such attempts from succeeding.

He continued that although the Tengnoupal DC assured that the names of five Meetei localities have not been removed, the localities could not be found online.

Discrepancies were found with the addresses given on the Aadhaar card and Health card, despite having provided documents stating the exact names and addresses.

Some health cards had the addresses labelled "not available".

Thus, he appealed to the authority concerned to look into the matter and rectify all the mistakes at the earliest.
