SHRI observes National Surgeons' Day

Shija Hospitals and Research Institute (SHRI) in coordination with Association of Surgeons of India (ASI), Manipur state chapter and Indian Medical Association, Manipur branch observed National Surgeons' Day to encourage dedication of surgical professionals.
As part of the observance, Shija Hospitals in collaboration with ASI, Manipur organised a blood donation camp at Shija Blood Centre & Transfusion Services on Saturday where 33 individuals donated blood.
To mark National Surgeons' Day, Shija Hospitals provided free surgeries, including laparoscopic cholecystectomies, celebrating the dedication of their surgeons.
These initiatives reflect the hospital's commitment to accessible, high-quality healthcare, said a release.
SHRI chairman and managing director Dr Palin Khundongbam expressed gratitude to donors, surgeons, and staff for their contributions.
"National Surgeons' Day celebrates our surgical teams' selfless service and reinforces our mission to enhance community health," the release quoted Dr Palin as saying.
Meanwhile, the Association of Surgeons of India, Manipur State Chapter commended the initiative for promoting blood donation awareness and advancing surgical care standards, it added.
