79th I-Day: Full dress rehearsals conducted In Kpi, CCpur

Kpi/CCpur, August 13 2025: KANGPOKPI: A full-scale dress rehearsal for the 79th Independence Day celebration was conducted at Brigadier Thomas ground, here on Wednesday, with deputy commissioner Mahesh Chaudhari and SP Manoj Prabhakar inspecting the parade and receiving the guard of honour from the march-past contingents commanded by MPS officer Lhunminlal Khongsai.

The contingents included teams of police, army, ICDS, CMO, and students from different schools and colleges.

The rehearsal demonstrates readiness and preparedness of the participants and left a sense of pride and patriotism in everyone who witnessed it.

It was a reminder of the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters and a tribute to our nation as we approach another year of celebrating our independence.

The day also included a solemn ceremony of offering floral tributes at the conference hall of DC on the occasion of Patriots' Day to pay homage to the sacrifices made by our brave patriots.

CHURACHANDPUR: The district administration conducted a full dress rehearsal parade for the 79th Independence Day celebration at PeaceGround, Tuibong, on Wednesday.

ADC Thangboi Gangte hoisted the National Flag and took the salute from the march past contingents commanded Churachandpur SDPO Jay Barange, in the presence of SP Prakhar Pandey and other dignitaries.

The National Anthem was played by the 27 Sector Assam Rifles band party.

The marching contingents included CRPF (male), BSF (male), IRB, civil,police (male & female), VDF, ex-servicemen, Rayburn College NCC Senior Division (boys and girls), Raybum High School NCC Junior Wing (girls), Churachandpur College, NCC Senior Wing (girls), Bethany Christian College NCC 1st and 2nd Platoon (girls) and JNV, Tuinom.

March past contingents from Rengkai Government HSS (boys & girls), JNV, Tuinom (boys & girls), Gandhi Memorial High School (boys & girls), Tuibong GHS (boys & girls), KSO, Community School (boys & girls), New Lamka UPS (boys & girls), Saidan UPS (boys & girls), Sei-lal UPS (boys & girls) and Sona Security Agency (mixed) also participated in the dress rehearsal, showcasing discipline and coordination.

As a part of the rehearsal, ADC Thangboi Gangte, administered the Nasha Mukh Abhiyan pledge to the gathering, emphasising the collective resolve to make the district, state and country drug-free.

The pledge aims to raise awareness about the ill effects of substance abuse and encourage individuals to take a stand against drug addiction.

The participants reaffirmed their resolve to work towards healthier and more prosperous community, free from the scourge of drugs.

SDOs, DLOs, officials of CRPF, BSF, police and various departments of the district administration were also present on the occasion.
