Organisations honour meritorious students, sportspersons

Imphal, July 13 2025: Naharol Yaiphakol, Naorem Leikai distributed its 13th Meritorious Award 2025 at the locality's Nongpok Panthoibi community hall on Sunday.

The programme was attended by Imphal West SP Ksh Shivakanta as chief guest and Naharol Yaiphakol president Naorem Meghajit as president, while Catholic School, Canchipur principal Kholi Emmanuel, Dineshori Higher Secondary School, Canchipur principal Sagolshem Asha-kiran and Guardians' Defence Academy founder retired lieutenant colonel Oinam Keirungba were guests of honour.

Similarly, Khekman Prize Distribution Committee organised its 26th Meritorious Award distribution programme at the Khekman Wangmataba Mayai Leikai residence of residence one A Kumarjit on Sunday.

The programme was attended by Thoubal College principal Dr Asem Nabachandra, retired headmaster Yumnam Gouro and Thoubal College Geology Department head associate professor Dr Wangjam Indrajit as chief guest, president and guest of honour, respectively.

During the event, meritorious students of seven localities under Khekman village, who secured top marks in the class X and XII examinations conducted by CBSE, BSEM and COHSEM as well as scorers of letter marks in different subjects were presented cash prizes and certificates, donated by various individuals.

Meanwhile, Development and Protection United Voluntary Organisation (DPUVO), Nambol held its 13th felicitation function of meritorious students of four assembly constituencies of Nambol, Konthoujam, Naoriya Pakhanglakpa and Wangoi at Public Hall, Nambol Keithel on Sunday.

During the event, 108 students, who cleared class X and XII examinations with high scores including students from government schools and wards of widows belonging to financially weaker section, were presented with easp prizes, study lamps and certificates.

The programme was attended by Nambol MLA Th Basantakumar, DPUVO president Taorem Khaba Khuman, DPUVO advisor former agriculture additional director Y Nabakishor, Nambol Municipal Council ex-chairperson Tekcham Ibochou, Nambol L Sanoi College ex-principal Mongjam Ibohal Singh and Manipur Wetlands Authority Technical Committee chairman Dr Khangembam Shamungou as presidium members.

On the other hand, a felicitation programme for newly appointed Dhanamanjuri University assistant professors Dr Moirangthem Ebhion; Singh, Dr Inaobi Elangbam and Dr Leisangthem Suresh, meritorious students who secured first division marks in the class X and XII exams and persons who excelled in the field of sports, art and culture was organised by Advanced Volunteers' Organisation (AVO), Kakching Wairi Ward No.2 at the local community hall on Sunday.

The programme was attended by Kakching Municipal Council Ward No.2 caretaker councillor Mayanglambam Uma Devi as chief guest and AVO president Naorem Krishnamohon as president.

During the function, the newly appointed assistant professors interacted with students while 37 persons including meritorious students and achievers in the field of sports, art and culture, who are residing in areas covered by the club, were presented with cash prizes, gifts and certificates.

Similarly, Keirak United Development Association (KUDA) on Sunday felicitated local meritorious students and sportspersons at Keirak Keithel Lampak community hall.

The programme was attended by Wabagai MLA Dr Usham Deben, Keirak Wabagai Zilla Parishad Administrative Committee member Salam Dhanabir Luwang, Keirak GP Administrative Committee chairperson Elangbam Shanti Leima and KUDA president Leitanthem Chandrakumar as dignitaries on the dais.

During the event, 21 meritorious students who topped class X and XII exams, including Higher Secondary Examination 2025 science stream 15th position holder Kangujam Yunika Chanu, were presented with cash awards and certificates.

KUDA also felicitated Elangbam Panthoi Chanu of Keirak Makha Leikai, the goalkeeper of Indian women football which qualified for the AFC Women's Asian Cup, 2026 .
