Bishnupur, July 11 2025:
A two-day District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting for Bishnupur district commenced on Friday at the Conference Hall of the Mini Secretariat, Bishnupur.
The meeting organised by District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Bishnupur, chaired by Inner Manipur MP Dr Angomcha Bimol Akoijam, who is also chairperson of the DISHA Committee.
The first day saw active participation from various departments including Health, Education, Agriculture, Housing and Urban Affairs, Drinking Water and Sanitation, Water Resources, and Rural Development.

Officials presented detailed progress reports and PowerPoint presentations on centrally sponsored schemes such as MGNREGA, DAY-NRLM, DDU-GKY, RSETI, PMGSY, NSAP, and PMAY-G, covering the period since the last DISHA meeting held on March 21, 2025 .
In his address, Dr Bimol stressed the need to strengthen core sectors� health, education, infrastructure, power, and water�as the foundation for societal development.
He urged officers to work sincerely and responsibly, emphasising that even small, consistent efforts could bring about meaningful change.
He also underscored the importance of dedication at all levels of administration and encouraged officers to fully understand their responsibilities and strive to-wards improving the state.
The parliamentarian also reviewed departmental progress and discussed ongoing challenges even as officials present raised implementation issues faced at the grassroots level, to which the MP assured support within his capacity.
Deputy commissioner Pooja Elangbam thanked the MP for his leadership and highlighted the district's initiatives, including extensive field visits to monitor scheme implementation.
She reiterated her commitment to transparency, accountability, and timely execution of schemes in line with the DISHA framework.
The meeting was also attended by Oinam MLA Irengbam Nalini, constituency representatives, DISHA committee nominees, and district level officers.
