SFs arrest UG cadres, arms dealers

Imphal, August 06 2025: Security forces arrested KYKL cadre identified as Sagolsem Hemanta Singh (41) from his Phumlou Maning Leikai residence in Imphal West district, oh Tuesday.

As per a release of Manipur Police Control Room, Hemanta was involved in cadre recruitment.

A mobile phone was seized from his possession.

Security forces also arrested a KCP (MFL) cadre from a rented accommodation in Lamphel Yaipha Leikai.

The captive identified as Naobi Leishangthem (33) alias Youhenba of Langol Game Village Punsi Khul, is accused of extortion and involvement in unlawful closure of cases of crime against women.

A mobile handset and Aad-haar card was recovered from his possession.

Meanwhile, security forces arrested two arms dealers on August 4 .

The arrested duo has been identified as Ningombam Abung Meitei alias Ibomcha (50) of Huidrom Awang Leikai and Ningthoujam Konungjao Meetei (33) of Keibi Khullen Makha Leikai.

Abung was arrested from Pourabi Hidumbi and Konungjao picked up from his home.

Items seized from them included one 9mm pistol with magazine, two 9mm rounds, a Vespa scooter, two mobile phones and an Aadhaar card.
