53rd Installation ceremony of Rotary Club held

Imphal, June 29 2025: Rotary Club of Imphal celebrated its 53rd Installation Ceremony at Rotary Multi Service Centre of the Club at Mantripukhri on Sunday.

As part of the celebration, various awards were presented.

The 10th Bhumural Kashiwal Memorial Award for Rotary Media Person of the Year Award was presented to Phurailatpam Keny Devi; 16th Akham Ibochouba Memorial Award for Rotary Meritorious Civil Constable of the Year Award to Imphal East district police head constable Lisham Sanjit Singh; 10th Sripal Chand Jain Memorial Award for Rotary Fireman of the Year Award to Ningthoujam Sanathoi Meitei; 10th M Ibobi Memorial Award for Rotary Traffic Police of the Year Award to Imphal West Traffic Control policeman Waikhom Ratan Singh; 10th Th Ibomcha Singh Memorial Award for Rotary Nurse of the Year Award to JNIMS senior staff nurse Laimapokpam Ranjita; and 32nd Rotarian Bidei Jain Memorial Award for Rotary Sportsperson of the Year Award to Sarungbam Athouba Meitei.

Meanwhile, the 23th Oja Sagolsem Indramani Memorial Rotary Scholarship was awarded to Wairokpam Leo Singh (Class X) of Top Awang Leikai and Hijam Banejar (Class IX of Mongkhang Lambi Imphal East; 12th Sagolsem Juge Memorial Rotary Scholarship to A Rinsem Satsang (Class VI), Oinam Sonalika (Class V), Naorem John Cena Singh (Class IX) and Md Sakil (Class X).

The 10th S Tomchou Singh Memorial Hearing Aid was distributed to Sarangthem Jandhabi of Chanam Pukhri Mapal, LH Philip of Teinem, Ukhrul district, Soibam Ton-don Devi of Nambol Naorem and Khavangpam Muivah of Mapao Khullen; 12th Sri Om Prakash Gulati Memorial Wheelchair to Lh Philip of Teinem, Ukhrul district; and 2nd Rukmani Devi Bagri Memorial Wheelchair to Seram Memcha Devi of Haoreibi Mayai Leikai.

During the function, Rotary Club of Imphal Dr Digel Singh Thingujam took oath as president for 2025-26.Keishamthong MLA Nishikant Spam, who attended as chief guest, put the identification lapel pins on the members of this year's BOD.

Rotary Club of Imphal ex-president (2024-25) Saratchandra Singh Phijam and ex-secretary Sanjay Das also attended the celebration along with new secretary Okram Sonamani Singh as members on the dais.
