Imphal, February 21 2026:
The State's first reported Nitrous Oxide Conscious Sedation System in a dental clinic setting has been installed at Shija City Dental Hospital, Keishampat.
As per a statement, this clinical milestone addresses a primary barrier in dental medicine by providing a sophisticated solution for patients both adult and paediatric experiencing dental anxiety, needle phobia and other challenges effectively ushering in an era of painless and stress-free dental interventions in the state.
The introduction of conscious sedation, commonly referred to as "laughing gas", allows the patient adult/paediatric to remain fully awake and communicative, maintaining all natural reflexes while significantly dulling the perception of pain.
Unlike conventional general anaesthesia, the effects are entirely reversible within minutes of cessation, allowing patients to resume their daily routines and operate vehicles immediately following their appointment.
