Thoubal, January 20 2026:
Assam Rifles on Tuesday organised a free medical and dental camp at Chandrakhong Village in Thoubal District, Manipur, ex-tending vital healthcare services to residents with limited access to medical facilities.
As per a release by the IGAR (South), a combined team of officials and troops, led by the Chief Medical Officer and supported by specialists and medical staff, attended to the needs of the villagers throughout the day.
A total of 593 people, including 148 men, 300 women and 145 children, benefitted from the initiative.
Patients were examined, illnesses diagnosed and free medicines provided.
Alongside general consultations, the camp emphasised preventive care through health check-ups, weight measurement, body assessments and personalised advice for maintaining regular health routines.
Special sessions were conducted to raise awareness about the importance of timely medical evaluation.
These included instant haemoglobin testing, blood pressure monitoring, random blood sugar checks and comprehensive dental and oral examinations.
The camp proved to be a lifeline for the community, offering essential medical support in a region where advanced healthcare infrastructure remains scarce.
