Yoga Week promotes wellness, unity

In the run-up to the International Yoga Day 2025, a series of yoga sessions were conducted across the state under the theme "Yoga for One Earth One Health" wherein over 720 individuals including school students, villagers and children participated.
The sessions aim to kindle physical fitness, mental well-being and communal harmony.
On Friday, special yoga sessions were conducted at Kwatha village in Tengnoupal district where 70 civilians including children practised yoga asanas, breathing exercises and meditation.
Simultaneously yoga session was held at Sajik Tampak in Chandel district which included guided postures and breathing techniques designed to enhance focus reduce stress and build overall fitness.
Yoga sessions were also organised at Moreingth-el and Shaibol villages in Tengnoupal district where 60 civilians including 30 children took part.
The programme introduced basic yoga practices and relaxation techniques under expert guidance while emphasising the importance of a healthy routine for a resilient society.
In Churachandpur district, Yoga Week was celebrated with sessions at Veng, Khuga, Singhat, Behiang, Kangkap, Zou Khunou, Suangdai and Hiangtam Khunou.
At Khuga village, 36 students from Hope Hall Defence Academy, Tuibong joined the programme.
At the historic Shangshak War Memorial in Ukhrul district a unique yoga session was held with 20 students from nearby villages.
Conducted amidst a symbolic backdrop the event included asanas pranayama arid guided meditation inspiring youth to lead disciplined mindful lives while paying tribute to fallen heroes.
In Chandel district, a yoga session was conducted highlighting the importance of yoga in enhancing physical fitness, mental well-being, and overall discipline.
