Meetei girl among toppers feted by Tripura Govt

Tripura Education Department on Wednesday felicitated the top rankers of the Madhyamik Pariksha (Secondary Examination/Matric) 2025, conducted by the Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE), during a function held at the International Fair Ground Hall, Hafania, Agartala.
Among those honoured included Meetei student Langonjam Bithi Singha, who secured the 8th position.
Tripura chief minister Dr Manik Saha, who attended the event as the chief guest, urged the meritorious students to dedicate themselves to the betterment of society rather than pursuing only for personal interests.
Langonjam Bithi, a student of PM Shri Baidyar-dighi Higher Secondary School, hails from Baidyardighi Meetei village in Tripura.
She is the daughter of Langonjam Bikash Singha and Ningthoujam Radharani, and the granddaughter of renowned Nat Sankirtan artiste Langonjam Khelendra.
She is currently pursuing Science at Kamini Kumar Higher Secondary School in Agartala.
Notably, Bithi is only the third Meetei student from Tripura to secure a position in the TBSE top 10 in the past 46 years.
The previous achievers were Ksh Prasanta Kumar Singha, who secured the 8th position in 1976, and Leiphrakpam Swapna, who ranked 6th in 1979 .
