Thoubal, December 14 2024: Meira paibi activists blocked NH 102 at Thoubal Melaground and staged a protest on Saturday demanding unconditional release of 'six village volunteer' arrested at Salungpham while at the same time demanding appropriate action against the police commandos involved in the killing of one 'village volunteer' .

Speaking to media persons, one of the women protestors claimed that they oppose killing of a village volunteer by police commando for not stopping their vehicle.

She further demanded that suitable action should be taken against the commando personnel involved in the incident and the six village volunteers should be freed without any conditions.

Later, the women protestors tried to storm the SP office.

However, police stopped them and allowed four representatives to meet the SP to air their grievances.
