State-level food safety training conducted

Imphal, May 12 2025:
Food Safety Administration under the Health Department has initiated a Food Safety Training and Certification (FoSTaC) programme in the state, starting in Kakching district, with the assistance of an FS-SAI-empanelled training partner.
The programme aims to enhance awareness and good practices related to food safety among the Food Business Operators (EBOs).
The training was conducted on Monday for manufacturers and caterers from Kakching and Tengnoupal districts at the Kuraopokpi Industrial Estate, Kakching district.
The session was attended by the chief medical officer, designated officer (food safety) and food safety officer of Kakching district, and the designated officer (food safety) of Tengnoupal district.
The training covered topics including good hygienic and sanitary practices, healthy hygienic practices, and food safety regulations.
Participants will be awarded FoSTaC certificates upon final assessment as per the guidelines of the Food Safety & Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).
The department will continue FoSTaC training programme for manufacturers and caterers of the other remaining districts till May 21, 2025 .
