Naga Conclave-2 concludes in Senapati

Senapati, May 10 2025: The four-day-long Naga Conclave-2, held under the theme "Critiquing Grand Narratives" and organised by the United Naga Council (UNC), concluded on Saturday at Senapati district headquarters.

The event saw the participation of representatives from 20 Naga tribes, three subordinate groups, and two associate bodies.

Throughout the conclave, a range of pertinent issues currently facing the Naga community were deliberated upon by various resource persons.

The discussions were moderated and chaired by'prominent activists and professionals from both Nagaland and Manipur.

Speaking to the media following the event, UNC president Ng Lorho described the conclave as meaningful and successful.

He noted that a diverse group of participants -comprising politicians, scholars, legal professionals, social and tribal leaders, students, women leaders, and human rights activists - actively contributed to the four-day discourse.

Lorho highlighted that the discussions were robust and constructive, culminating in a series of recommendations aimed at addressing current concerns of the Naga people.

He further stated that the conclave reaffirmed its support for the Framework Agreement and reiterated its call for an early resolution to the Naga political issue.

Additional resolutions adopted during the final day of the conclave will be formally announced following their ratification by the UNC Executive Council.

The event was supported by the Naga Women's Union and the All Naga Students' Association, Manipur.
