Ipudhou Marjing Expo from Aug 6 at Marjing

Imphal, August 05 2025:
A five-day Ipudhou Marjing Expo - 2025, jointly organised by Centre for Research on Environmental Development (CRED) and Manipur chapter of the North East Women Entrepreneur Association (NEWEA) will commence from August 6 at the Marjing Polo Tourism Complex, Heingang.
Speaking to media persons at the MSME office, at Takyel Industrial Estate on Monday, NEWEA Manipur president Kangabam Bijaya Chanu announced that the expo aims to promote local artisans, indigenous entrepreneurs, and the rich cultural heritage of the state.
She informed that all preparations are complete for launch of the exhibition-cum-trade fair, which is being supported by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.
The expo will feature 50 stalls showcasing wide range of indigenous products, including handloom and handicrafts, cane and bamboo items, textiles and embroidery, footwear, jewellery, PM Vishwakarma products, processed foods, leather goods, and Kouna (water reed) crafts.
In addition to the trade exhibition, the event will also feature cultural and traditional performances, including folk dances and songs.
A special highlight will be the Basant Charei Namkhang Runway Show, curated by local designers and inspired by the indigenous fruits and flowers of Manipur.
Students from BB Paul Special School and IDP centres will present cultural performances, adding to the vibrancy of the event.
A business summit focusing on the banking sector will also be held as part of the expo, she elaborated.
