RIMS, CRPF unit conduct cleanliness drive

Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, in association with 86 battalion of CRPF, Lamphelpat, conducted a cleanliness drive as part of Swachhta Action Plan (SAP) 2024-25 at RIMS campus on Saturday.
According to a release issued by RIMS media cell, the drive covered areas from the northeastern boundary wall near the BSNL office to the Paediatric emergency gate No 3 via the main gate, and from the main gate to the Jubilee Hall, RIMS.
Several prominent figures from RIMS including director Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, MS Prof N Sanjib Singh, SAP nodal officer Prof Y Govindaraj Singh, as well as principal of the RIMS Dental College and CRPF officials along with personnel participated in the drive with proactive involvement of doctors, RIMS staffers, and members of CRED and MSS.
During the drive, Prof N Sanjib emphasised the importance of maintaining cleanliness across the RIMS Hospital boundary walls, campus, and surrounding areas.
He highlighted issues such as illegal pan shops, unauthorised vehicle parking, and hoardings in stalled without permission from the Imphal Municipal Council, which contribute to waste accumulation and detract profile of the hospital's surroundings.
He urged everyone to join hands in keeping the RIMS campus clean and free of such activities to create a healthier environment for all, the release added.
