Model Lukanand set for acting debut

Imphal, June 29 2025:
Model Lukanand Kshetrimayum is all set to make his acting debut in a grand Pan-India historical epic movie 'Birangana Xaandhani', directed by National awardee Biswajeet Bora, a reputed director based in both Mumbai and Assam.
The film is produced by the Sootiya Development Council under the cultural initiative supported by Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sharma.
With an unprecedented scale and vision, it is poised to become one of the biggest-budget films ever made in Northeast India.
The lead male actor of the movie, Lukanand is portraying the historical character of Maharaja Nitipal, the last king of the Sootiya dynasty.
In preparation for this demanding role, he underwent extensive action and acting workshops since past 4 years with the alumni from the prestigious National School of Drama, New Delhi.
Lukanand, an international pageant titleholder and Managing Director of the Mister International Organisation, is no stranger to the cinema.
A recipient of the Manipur State Government Award for his previous work as a director, he now embarks on a new artistic journey as an actor.
Currently 90 percent complete, the film is expected to hit the silver screen across India by the end of this year.
It will be released in multiple languages including Assamese, Telugu, and more, reinforcing its strong Pan-India appeal and bringing a powerful story from Assam's rich history to a nationwide audience.
