Governor inaugurates Keithel, visits waterfall

Bishnupur, August 20 2025: Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla on Wednesday inaugurated the Lamangdong Ima Keithel at Bishnupur district headquarters, which has been constructed under Special Assistance for State Capital Infrastructure at the cost of Rs 7.2 crore by Manipur Police Housing Corporation.

The programme was also attended by Bishnupur MLA Govindas Konthoujam, Bishnupur deputy commissioner Pooja Elangbam, Bishnupur Municipal Council caretaker chairperson L Maniyaima, Oinam ex-MLA L Radhakishor, ex-chief secretary and NPP candidate from Bishnupur AC O Nabakishor, ex-minister Kh Pulinkanta, and Lamangdong Ima Keithel Chaokhat Lup chairperson L Nganbi, among others.

After the inauguration, the Governor inspected the market sheds.

The public were left somewhat dissatisfied after the Governor departed after inaugurating the market, without saying any word.

Meanwhile, the Governor, along with the First Lady, later visited the Sadu Chiru Waterfall in Kangpokpi district, adjoining Bishnupur district.

The Sadu Chiru Village Authority, led by its representatives, welcomed the Governor and submitted a memorandum requesting support for the reopening of the tourist spot.

DC and SP of Kangpokpi district, along with other officers, were also present during the visit, a release by PRO Raj Bhavan said.
