IMPAC's Numittuna bags five awards at drama festival

Imphal, January 20 2026: "Numittuna", a play produced by Ibudhou Marjing Performing Arts Centre (IMPAC) has bagged five awards at the 24th Rupmahal Artistes Memorial Drama Festival held from December 24, 2025 to January 13,2026 .

Nineteen theatre groups participated in the festival organised by Manipur State Kala Akademi (MSKA) .

As per a press release, Hemchand Ningthouchand was named the Best Actor for his role as Ningthem in "Numittuna"; Monica Usham (as Thaba) won the Best Actress award; Chingakham Jinit alias Ema Meitei (as Nodiyachand) bagged the Best Comedian title and Baby Lourembam Lingjen (as Machathoi) was named Best Child Actor.

Additionally, the cast of Numittuna also named the 2nd Best Disciplined crew.

The drama is written by Nabadwip Ningthouja and directed by Puthem Sarda Devi.

Notably, before stepping into the director's chair, Puthem Sarda was also a drama artiste.

She has received the title of best actress at the National and international level, maintaiend the press note.
