WAMA announces winners of poetry competition

Imphal, September 13 2026: Wakhallon Mannaba Apunba (WAMA) Kangleipak has announced the winners of its 4th Written Poetry Competition held on the theme "Hingkisi Eikhoi Ereipakkidamak" .

The competition was organised to promote Manipuri language, which was included in the 8th Schedule after a long struggle, and to honour writers contributing to the language.

According to WAMA, around 60 poets participated.

Thounaojam Rameshor Singh secured first position, followed by Ningthoujam Saratchandra and Kangabam Bobychand Singh.

The prizes will be distributed at wAMA's 6th Foundation Day function to be held on September 25 at Manipur Press Club, Imphal.

All participants will be felicitated on the occasion.
