TNL office, multi-purpose complex inaugurated

Reverend Dr Tuisem A Shishak, principal emeritus and founder of Patkai Christian College, Nagaland, and Patkai Christian Academy, Manipur, inaugurated the newly-constructed Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) office-cum-multipurpose complex at Winotang, here, on Friday.
Cutting the inauguration ribbon in the presence of TNL president Sword Vashum, Reverend Dr Shishak invoked divine blessings for the new facility under the care of TNL, hoping it would serve the community well.
In his welcome address, Sword Vashum expressed gratitude to Ukhrul MLA Ram Muivah, who played an instrumental role in the establishment of the new complex during his tenure as secretary of NEC .
The TNL president also acknowledged the support of Hunphun village for allowing the space for the construction of the facility for the common good of the public.
Informing the gathering that TNL would soon relocate its office to the new building, Vashum noted that the multi-purpose complex would also operate as a livelihood incubation centre as well as a guest house to serve the community in various ways.
"This is the only one of a kind of infrastructure ever installed in the district and I thank everyone who has contributed in realising this goal," Vashum remarked, referring to the four-storey building.
In his speech, former TNL president V Weapon Zimik recounted that the concept of this multi pur pose complex took shape during his tenure in 2014, adding that then NEC secretary Ram Muivah laid the foundation for the ambitious project.
He also credited the project's vision to the late Shangyang Shaiza from Hunphun village, who championed the cause.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Hunphun headman HA Khayaiwo, representatives from Hungpung Village Authority, local CSOs, and the Wung Tangkhul Region Elders Forum, among others.
