Imphal/Tengnoupal, May 26 2026:
Underscoring its unwavering commitment to community welfare, physical fitness and operational readiness, the Assam Rifles spearheaded a series of comprehensive health, wellness, and environmental awareness campaigns across its garrisons in Manipur this week.
Kickstarting the health drive, a specialized Health Awareness Session was organized at Dronacharya Hall, Keithelmanbi Garrison, located in the Imphal West District.
The morning program focused heavily on combating modem lifestyle diseases through preventative healthcare, stress management, and nutritional balance.
To translate theory into practice, an expert-led fitness workshop demonstrated targeted yoga postures and breathing techniques to enhance flexibility and mental resilience.
The community-centric event saw an enthusiastic turnout of 61 participants, bringing together officers, troops, ladies, and children in a shared pursuit of long-term physical and mental wellness.
Simultaneously, Assam Rifles marked a historic milestone in the Tengnoupal District by celebrating the 75th Special Edition of "Sundays on Cycle," organized in perfect alignment with the Government of India's nationwide Fit India Movement, the event seamlessly blended environmental advocacy with rigorous physical conditioning.
Moving beyond conventional cycling, the milestone edition integrated high-energy Zumba modules for cardiovascular health alongside structured Yoga disciplines designed to maximize concentration and team cohesion.
The landmark event witnessed the synchronized participation of 110 personnel, reinforcing the tore philosophy of "Fitness for AU" across the ranks.
Through such grassroots initiatives, Assam Rifles reinforces its legacy not just as the "Sentinels of the East," but as a vital catalyst for socioeconomic progress, health empowerment, and holistic nation-building.
