Skill development programme begins

Imphal, July 24 2025:
The fourth batch of the Assam Rifles-sponsored Skill Development Programme on 'Hospitality and Retail Management' was inaugurated on Wednesday at Keishampat Leimajam Leikai, Imphal West.
The programme, conducted in collaboration with the Delhi-based Gaurav Pradhan Foundation, is scheduled to run till October 2025 .
Launched in June 2024, the initiative has already completed three successful batches, enabling 148 local youths to secure employment in reputed hotels and shopping malls across India.
According to a PRO IGAR (S) release, the programme has seen growing interest from young aspirants keen to enhance their soft skills and improve job prospects in the service sector.
Assam Rifles officials, while addressing the inaugural event, congratulated the new batch of carefully screened participants and encouraged them to make the most of the opportu-nity.
This initiative is anticipated to pave the way for further programmes fostering a culture of skill development and economic resilience across the region.
Participants expressed their gratitude and excitement at being part of this transformative endeavour, the PRO said in a release.
