Trust reaches out to crisis affected kids

In an endeavour to support children orphaned by the ongoing crisis in Manipur, Egalitarian Manipur of the Altruists (EMA) Trust has extended financial assistance to families who have lost loved ones with primary priority on educational support for the children in distress.
According to a statement, an EMA team on Saturday visited Ningthoukhong and handed over a monthly scholarship of Rs 6000 to Ningthoujam Monica, daughter of late N Nabadip.
The scholarship was donated by IRS officer Banita Naorem of Kakching through the Trust.
Additionally, the trust has been providing a monthly scholarship of Rs 5000 and Rs 3000 respectively to Monica's younger sister Chaoba Chanu and younger brother Nonglenkhomba since July this year.
These funds were donated by Pooja Chauhan and Rahul Banerjee.
The siblings, who lost their father in the conflict, do not have any homestead land of their own.
EMA Trust has also launched a monthly scholarship of Rs 4000 for Oinam Mangalleibi, daughter of, late O Manitomba, also from Ningthoukhong.
This scholarship, funded by Noida based CSDR's chief of programme Sunil Mohanty will be provided for five years.
EMA Trust, a registered charitable organisation eligible for income tax exemption under Sections 80C and 12A, is now providing monthly scholarships to 43 children affected by the ongoing violence in the state.
The trust aims to continue its support to help these children rebuild their futures through education.
The trust has also announced that it will observe Irabot Day cum Solidarity to Bravehearts on September 30 at THAU Ground, Thangmeiband during which tributes would be to those who died in the current conflict.
It urged affected families to participate and honour the martyrs by offering floral tributes.
