4 cadres of banned outfits arrested

Imphal, August 22 2022: Three cadres of the proscribed PLA and a woman cadre of NRFM were arrested by a combined team of Thoubal district commando and 16 Assam Rifles from different locations on Monday.

The arrested female cadre of NRFM has been identified as Leimiwo Sanga (40) w/o Mayonpam Sanga of Shirui village, Ukhrul district and the PLA cadres as Sanasam Gobin alias Mani (32) s/o Manglemba of Wangoo Sabal Maning Leikai Ward no.4, Bishnupur District; Sanasam Manglemba (56) s/o (L) Chini Meitei of Wangoo Sabal Maning Leikai and Nandeibam Zilanganba alias Bungcha (26) s/o N Birdhaja of Pourabi Awang Leikai.

According to a police report, a reliable input was received from 16 AR that Sanasam Gobin, who is mentioned as an accused in an FIR registered in Khongjom police station, was present in Wangoo Sabal Leikai area at around 1.30 pm on Sunday.

Based on the input, a combined team of Thoubal District Police Commando and 16 AR carried out search operation and arrested Gobin, his father Manglemba and Zilanganba.

On questioning, the trio revealed that Gobin, Zilanganba and another previously arrested cadre, Khaidem Bishorjit alias Bobi (36) s/o Khaidem Kunjeshwor of Yairipok Khoirom worked under the instruction of the outfit's self-styled lieutenant colonel Rishikanta and were involved in the hand grenade attack at the makeshift shed of labourers engaged in construction of Sawombung Bridge.

All three of them have been handed over to Khongjom PS for further legal action.

Meanwhile, the same team arrested NRFM cadre Leimiwo Sanga from a rented house at Khabeisoi 7 MR Entry Lane on Sunday afternoon.

On questioning, Leimiwo revealed that she was involved in extortion activities in NRFM's name.

She was handed over to Lamlai PS for taking up further course of legal action, the report conveyed.
