Imphal, May 21 2026: World Bee Day was celebrated today at the training hall of Integrated Beekeeping Development Centre (IBDC), College of Agriculture (CoA), Iroisemba under the theme, "Bee Together for People and Planet - A Partnership that Sustains Us All".

The event, organised by the AU India Coordinated Research Project (AICRP) on Honeybees and Pollinators, Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal, aimed to raise awareness about the critical role bees and other pollinators play in sustaining ecosystems, ensuring food security, and protecting biodiversity.

The celebration was graced by dignitaries, including Prof K Nandini Devi, Dean, CoA; Dr Pukhram Bhumita, Principal Investigator, AICRP on Honeybees & Pollinators, CAU; Prof K Mamocha, Head, Department of Entomology, CoA; Dr Kh Ibohal Singh and bee professional Arambam Suchitra Devi.

As part of the event, a poster making competition was conducted and prizes were distributed to the winners.
