Imphal, September 13 2026: The Department of Political Science, Manipur University, in collaboration with the Love Manipur Foundation, organised a cleanliness drive on the university campus this morning.

The drive covered the areas surrounding the Department of Political Science, Department of Economics, Ambedkar Centre of Excellence, and the Centre for Social Exclusion and Inclusive Studies.

Around 220 volunteers, including 150 volunteers of the Love Manipur Foundation and approximately 70 volunteers comprising teaching and non-teaching staff, research scholars, and MA students, participated in the drive.

The initiative was aimed at promoting cleanliness, environmental care, and beautification of the university's shared academic spaces.

The organisers emphasised that maintaining a clean and attractive campus is not the sole responsibility of the authorities but a collective responsibility of students, faculty members, staff, and the wider university community.

Professor Khelena Gurumayum, Head of the Department of Political Science appreciated the volunteers for their enthusiastic participation in the cleanliness drive.

It may be noted that conducting such cleanliness drive help in maintaining the university campus clean and ideal educational atmosphere for the students.
