Chingkhulong hosts legal awareness programme

Imphal, July 13 2025: Tribal Youth Council Manipur (TYCM), General Headquarters, in collaboration with Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MSLSA) and District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Imphal West, organised a one-day legal awareness programme on Sunday at Chingkhulong village community hall, Lamsang, Imphal West.

Senior advocate of the High Court of Manipur, R Daniel Ramsan, spoke on Tribal Rights, highlighting the entitlements and facilities available to tribal communities.

He also led an interactive session, responding to queries and concerns raised by attendees.

Advocate Jangdimliu Gonmei, also of the High Court, delivered a talk on The Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, and later engaged with the public to clarify legal matters.

The programme was at tended by Shapu Kamei, Khulak of Chingkhulong village, as chief guest; Merachao Panmei, Khunbu of the village, as guest of honour; and Momo Tantan-ga, president of TYCM General Headquarters, who served as the functional president of the event.

The proceedings were moderated by Namlungsiliu Wisonnamai, while Dinglin Kamei, president of the Chingkhulong Youth Club, delivered the vote of thanks.

The event saw participation from village elders, youth club leaders, women's society members, and other community representatives.
