Imphal, May 12 2025: University of Delhi, Ramjas College associate professor Mayanglambam Ojit Kumar Singh, who is also a columnist of The People's Chronicle and Poknapham, has been awarded with the Research Excellence Award-2024 by Institute of Scholar (InSc), ISO 9001:2015 certified and registered under the Ministry of MSME & Corporate Affairs.

The award was presented for his research paper titled, 'Morphological and molecular characterisation of Mulveyellus aizawlensis sp; n; (Nematoda: lontonchinae) from Aizawl, Mizoram' published in the Nematology Journal on May 2023, Ojit Kumar is presently researching on climate change its impact on insect diversity and behaviour of the mutualistic relationships among the insects.

Last year, he rediscovered two different species of cicada from Dheerpur Wetland Park, Delhi.

His research on the 'Ecology of the Aquatic Edible insects of the Loushi Pat Basin' is also well cited in research community.
