Two UGs, SIM card supplier arrested

Security forces have arrested two active cadres belonging to different underground (UG) groups, along with one individual accused of supplying SIM cards to armed outfits.
According to a statement issued by the Manipur Police Control Room, a team of Manipur Police apprehended a cadre of the proscribed KCP (PWG) from Lamphel Grace Colony on Monday.
The arrestee identified as George Bush Meitei alias Lalloiba (18), was allegedly involved in extorting money from the public.
One mobile handset, an iPad Air, and an Aadhaar card were recovered from his possession.
In another operation the same day, security forces arrested an active cadre of the proscribed PREPAK identified as Thokchom Wilson Singh alias BK (26), of Bamon Kampu Mayai Leikai from the same locality.
He was reportedly involved in extortion activities in areas including Canchipur, Mantripukhri, and Kakwa.
A mobile phone was recovered from him.
Police investigations also led to the arrest of one Khumanthem Bikramjit Singh (43) of Kiyam Siphai Khundongbam Leikai on the charge of providing SIM cards to PREPAK (Pro) for use in extortion activities in Thoubal Kiyam Siphai.
During the operation, security personnel recovered a Realme 9 Pro+ mobile handset, one active SIM card, 85 Vodafone SIM cards, nine Airtel prepaid SIM cards, four BSNL SIM cards, two Airtel postpaid SIM cards, and one Jio SIM card from the possession of the alleged supplier.
