Farmers-scientists interaction programme held

A "Farmers-Scientists Interaction cum Input Distribution Programme", was successfully conducted today at the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) Research Complex for NEH Region, Manipur Centre in Lamphelpat.
The programme was organised by the ICAR RC for NEH Region, Manipur Centre in collaboration with the ICAR-Indian Institute of Wheat and Barley Research (IIWBR), Kamal, Haryana.
The event was graced by dignitaries, including Thanga AC MLA, Tongbram Robindro Singh; Dr Jogendra Singh, Principal Scientist, ICAR-IIWBR; Dr S Basanta Singh, Head of Regional Centre, ICAR RC for NEH Region, Manipur Centre; and Dr Satish Kumar, Senior Scientist, ICAR-IIWBR.
Speaking on the occasion, Tongbram Robindro encouraged farmers to consult with the experts available at ICAR to improve their yield.
He emphasized the benefits of modem techniques, noting that scientific methods in fish farming are now more effective than traditional ones.
He also highlighted that using new techniques in rice cultivation can save time and increase production compared to traditional methods.
During the programme, inputs such as ducklings, piglets, and fish fingerlings were distributed to the farmers.
