Senapati, May 21 2026:
In a humanitarian gesture amid the ongoing disruption along National Highway-2, the Senapati District Students Association (SDSA) and the District Administration of Senapati distributed relief materials to truck drivers, passengers and transport workers stranded between Senapati and Mao Gate.
Hundreds of loaded trucks, passenger buses and medium vehicles have remained stranded along the highway following the total shutdown imposed by Kuki Inpi Manipur after the killing of three church leaders in an ambush on May 13 between Kotzin and Kotlen by unidentified armed miscreants.

The situation was further aggravated after the United Naga Council (UNC) imposed an inter-district economic blockade along the National Highways from May 17, demanding the release of six remaining Naga hostages.
As part of its goodwill mission, SDSA distributed 90 bags of rice, 1,500 kilograms of potatoes and 1,500 kilograms of pulses to stranded truckers and passengers along the highway stretch.
