Assam Rifles organises medical camps in Ukhrul district

Demonstrating its sustained commitment to community welfare, Assam Rifles organised a comprehensive health check-up camp at Shakpao in Ukhrul district, Manipur.
According to a release issued by IGAR (South), this initiative forms part of the force's ongoing efforts to enhance the well-being and health conditions of residents in remote and underserved areas.
The medical camp was established with the objective of delivering essential healthcare services to the people of Shakpao village.
A dedicated team comprising Medical Officers and Paramedical staff provided thorough health check-ups, administered basic medical care and distributed free medicines to those requiring treatment.
Additionally, informative health awareness sessions were conducted, focusing on hygiene, preventive measures and the identification of common ailments to better equip the community with knowledge about day-to- day healthcare.
The camp received an excellent response from the villagers, with a total of 107 people - including 47 males, 43 females and 17 children -availing themselves of the medical services on offer.
A similar medical camp was also organised in Gamnoum village, Ukhrul district, Manipur.
The camp was established with the primary objective of facilitating access to basic and essential medical services for the villagers.
A dedicated team, comprising the Medical Officer, Paramedical staff and other Assam Rifles personnel, carried out comprehensive health check- ups and provided necessary medical care.
Requisite medicines were also distributed free of charge to those in need.
The medical camp was met with an encouraging response, with approximately 113 villagers availing themselves of the services, including 61 males, 35 females and 17 children.
Beyond medical examinations and treatment, health awareness sessions were organised to educate the community on vital topics such as hygiene, preventive healthcare and common ailments.
Residents conveyed their sincere appreciation to Assam Rifles for their unwavering commitment to improving healthcare access and meeting the medical needs of those living in remote regions.
