Robert Naorem showcases 'Langla' in Amsterdam

Imphal, June 15 2025: Fashion designer and handloom entrepreneur Robert Naorem presented his collection, 'Langla' at an exclusive international fashion show organised jointly by World Fashion Council and International Model Council, in Amsterdam, the Netherlands on Saturday.

In all, 16 fashion designers from all over the world including Robert (India) participated in the show.

His collection, 'Langla' honours the culture of Manipur and its talented artistes.

Around 18 international models including Mr World-Netherland wore Robert's collection during the show.

Robert's vision of reviving Manipuri handloom and adopting sustainable fashion was realised in his collection with various hand embroidered works on silk fabric woven by different types of 'Iyong' .

The collection combined culture and contemporary aesthetics with the talented hands of Manipuri weavers in the form of Indian sarees and western silhouettes.

In this regard, Robert expressed his joy in getting an opportunity to showcase the textile richness of Manipur to the world amid the sufferings faced by the state's denizens at present.

This opportunity also helped encourage the youth to focus on preserving the weaving culture of the state, he conveyed.
