Awareness, training programmes held at Moreh, Kakching

Kakching, August 14 2025:
A day-long awareness programme on 'Child Protection and Related Laws' was jointly organised by District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), and Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Tengnoupal, at Dr Colvin Academy, Moreh, on Thursday.
The programme, attended by principal, teachers and students of the Academy along with Moreh residents, featured CWC chairperson Michael Thomas and social activist Thangkhanmuan Zou, speaking on the topics "The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012," and "The Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006", respectively.
Although unable to attend in person, the speech of District Child Protection Officer (DCPO), Tengnoupal Devavrata Sharma was read out at the event.
On the other-hand, as part of its ongoing initiative, All Gas Care (AGC) Manipur State conducted an awareness-cum-training programme on safe use of LPG (cooking gas) at Mayang Imphal Thana Wangkhei Leikai and Hiyangthang Mayai Leikai on Wednesday, with the participation of Anganwadi and ASHA workers from both localities.
During the session, AGC Manipur State manager Sh Joyprakash Meetei demonstrated safe LPG handling techniques to the participants.
Prior to the training, Happy Rajen of the Nokphade group entertained the gathering with jokes, drawing their attention to the programme.
The event was also attended by AGC Manipur State caretaker Yumnam Anish, head mechanic Nandeibam Joy Singh and others.
