Manipuri Classical Solo Dance Festival begins

Imphal, September 13 2026: A two-day Manipuri Classical Solo Dance Festival organised by Centre for Youth and Cultural Activities (CYCA), Khurai Puthiba Leikai, began today at Puthiba Community Hall, Pungel Road, Imphal.

The festival is being organised under the Cultural Function and Production Grant (CFPG) scheme of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

Joint Director, Art and Culture Department, Manipur, G Dharmadas Sharma attended as chief guest, former Pradhan of Khurai Nandeibam Leikai GP Y Chitra as functional president, and Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee A Lakshmi as guest of honour at the inaugural function.

On the first day, Ch Dhanajit of CYCA and Dr P Tejpati of CCP presented solo performances.

Khaidem Olivia Anoi, P Ronita, Ch Bisanta Meitei, Sh Minakshi and Elizabeth Irom will perform on the concluding day tomorrow.
