PROs compile reports on search Ops, arms recovery

Imphal, May 05 2025:
Indian Army and Assam Rifles formation under Spear Corps launched intelligence-based operations in the hill and valley districts namely Kakching, Tengnoupal, Bishnupur and Kangpokpi between April 27 to May 4 in coordination with Manipur police, CRPF, BSE, and ITBP, resulting in apprehension of 17 cadres of different armed Organisations and recovery of 31 weapons, 14 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), grenades, ammunition and war like stores, and dismantling of unauthorised bunkers.
In separate statements, PRO IGAR (S) and PRO Defence informed that search operations and area domination patrols were carried out on April 26 in Moltingc-ham village under Kakching police station, and T Minou in Tengnoupal district; on April 29 along the Salvom-Molnoi axis in Tengnoupal district, near Loktak Lake in Bishnupur district, and dense jungle terrain nearby Phaileng village in Kangpokpi district; on May 1 in general area of Maohing Kuki in Kangpokpi district; and on May 4 in Samuchep Lok Nala area near Ningthoukhong in Bishnupur district.
Informing that the coordinated efforts by security forces highlight their unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and security in Manipur, the statements said weapons such as Self Loading Rifles (SLR), single-barrel guns, bolt action rifle, grenades, improvised launchers (pompi), ammunition and war like stores, IEDs, side arms including country-made, grenades ammunition and war like stores, two improvised mortars, etc., recovered during the operations have been handed over to Manipur police.
