BJP legislators to meet today

BJP national spokesperson and Member of Parliament (MP) Sambit Patra is likely to visit the state and hold meeting with party legislators while state BJP legislators are scheduled to hold a meeting on Monday to chalk out strategies to form a new government with like-minded legislators of other parties.
According to a reliable source, state BJP legislators, who were camping in New Delhi since the past few days are likely to return to Imphal on Monday.
Among those camping in New Delhi include Wangjing-Tentha MLA Paonam Brojen, Uripok MLA Kh Raghumani and Hiyanglam MLA Dr Yumnam Radheshyam.
Notably, a team of MLAs led by Paonam Brojen had submitted representations signed by 21 MLAs to both the Prime Minister and Union home minister for reinstating a popular government in the state.
Another source informed that some BJP MLAs and legislators of other parties, which are allies of the NDA government, camping in New Delhi since the past few days left for Guwahati on Saturday and they are also likely to return to Imphal on Monday in anticipation of Sambit Patra's visit.
Another source informed that MP Sambit is likely to visit Imphal on Monday and hold crucial meeting with party legislators on government formation.
Sambit Patra is likely to engage with party legislators regarding the possibility of forming a new government.
Notably, political uncertainty in the state prevails since imposition of the President's Rule on February 13, 2025 following the resignation of chief minister N Biren Singh on February 9 .
