Kakching, November 18 2014:
With the objectives of improving health care facilities in the remote villages of Chandel district, the Chief Medical officer (CMO) of Chandel district Dr Nongmaithem Birchandra personally inspected the ongoing construction of Primary Health Centre at Relram Centre, and Primary Health Sub Centres at Sita and Leibi Villages in Chandel district.
During the inspection visit undertaken under the supervision of State Health Director and State Mission Director of NRHM O Ibomcha along with a media team, the CMO visited the PHSC at Sita village to oversee the infrastructure available, the rate of enrolled patients, and feasibility of setting up a delivery point.
According to the CMO, efforts would be made to complete the building construction at Relram centre PHC at the earliest and to equip the health centre with required infrastructure including Furniture and requisite staff.
Concerned over the absence of signboard and other required maintenance works at the Leibi PHSC, the CMO Chandel appealed to the staff concerned to work sincerely and efficiently considering the hardships faced by people of remote areas.
He warned of befitting actions against the staff, if the centre is found to be working improperly during the next visit.
Medicines and kits were also delivered to the health centres during today's visit.
