Kabui Union declares appointments 'null & void'

Imphal, March 28 2026: The Kabui Union, Manipur, is grappling with internal conflict after an emergency Managing Committee meeting held today declared recent appointments made by the union's president, K Heera Kabui, as "null and void" .

As per a press release issued by the Media Cell of Kabui Union Manipur, the emergency meeting was called to counter a press release issued by president K Heera Kabui, announcing his brother-in-law Thaimei Thaibipou Kabui's appointment as interim general secretary, ousting Athoi Kamei.

The Managing Committee claimed that Thaibipou Kabui is not a bonafide member and that the president lacks the authority under the union's rules and regulations to appoint or remove committee members.

In the meeting, Lanbon Kabui, the current vice president, was also unanimously selected to serve as the interim president of the Kabui Union, Manipur.
