Chicks and ducklings distributed to IDPs to support livelihoods

Imphal, March 25 2026:
In a bid to promote livelihood among internally displaced persons (IDPs), the Directorate of Research, Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal, distributed chicks and ducklings to the residents of the Pre-Fabricated House Relief Camp, Utlou, Bishnupur district.
The initiative was carried out with funding support from the ICAR-Directorate of Vivekananda Parvatiya Krishi Anusandhan Sansthan, Almora.
The distribution programme was attended by Director of Research, Dr LM Garanayak as chief guest; OSD Finance of CAU Imphal, Dr H Chaoba; Registrar of CAU, TR Sharma; and Deputy Director of Research, L Hemochandra as presidium members.
During the programme, around 825 chicks and 900 ducklings were distributed to the IDPs, along with 40 bags of feed to support initial rearing.
