Imphal, March 23 2026: A 1-day legal awareness programme was successfully conducted yesterday at the Shri Shri Radha Madan Mohan Mandop in Keishampat Kangabam Leikai.

The programme was jointly organised by Yaifa Sintha Apunba Lup (YASAL) and SSRMM, under the aegis of Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA).

Several notable individuals participated in the programme, including Prof Senjam Mangi, former Head, Department of Political Science and former Dean, School of Social Science, Manipur University; Tongbram Nabachandra, president of YASAL; Laishram Mema, vice-president of KLANM; retired Prof Kangabam Solochana; film actress RK Hemabati; and Maibam Tomba, president of SSRMM.

The awareness programme focused on two key topics: the "Right to Free Legal Aid" and the "Role of Law in Preventing, Sexual Exploitation of Women and Protection from Domestic Violence" .
